Ultima Online: Lead Taming Cu Sidhes without Paralyze or Peacemaking from Kitiara on Vimeo.

This video demonstrates lead taming cu sidhe elven dogs without the use of Paralyze spells or Peacemaking. I avoid using Paralyze because if the beast is paralyzed when it is tamed, it will suffer an additional 4% skill reduction as a penalty for paralysis. This doesn't matter much for pets that only train skills up to 100/GM (like cu sidhes), but for those that can have skills exceeding 100, that additional 4% penalty reduces the maximum that you can train those skills up to. So I avoid paralyze taming and stick with standard lead taming (as demonstrated here) or peace/lead taming for more aggressive beasts like greater dragons and rune beetles. Visit UOCraft.com for the Pet Power Calculator mentioned in the video.

Hi everybody,

The pet difficulty number for calculating control chance for the Dread Warhorse has been updated. (Early data when they first appeared was inaccurate). The Dread Warhorse’s control chance should now calculate properly in the Pet Control Chance calculator. Thanks to Brian for the heads-up!

Hi everybody –

I’ve fixed a bug that was setting the max HP for cu sidhes too high in the Pet Power Calculator. If you’ve rated a cu sidhe recently, you might want to rate it again, as its score might go up a couple ticks.

My apologies for the inconvenience, and thanks to Llewen and Charlie for alerting me to the problem.

Hi everybody,

Big news! The first edition of UOCraft Mobile is up and running!

Just fire up a browser on your phone or tablet and go to: http://m.uocraft.com.

The Mobile version of UOCraft contains the Pet Power Calculator, the Stable Slot Calculator, the Control Chance Calculator, and the Best Battle Pet Tool.

Of course, you can still view the full version of the site on your mobile devices via the standard URL, http://www.uocraft.com. Pick your poison – the full interface or the mobile-customized version.

The mobile site is optimized for mobile browsers that support HTML5 (particularly, HTML5 form controls). Android Browser and Internet Explorer are a little behind on those features, but the experience should be as-intended in Safari on Apple devices, Google Chrome, Blackberry browser, Firefox, and Opera Mobile. (For example, if your browser doesn’t support HTML5 form controls, you will not be brought directly to the numeric keypad when you click into a numeric text field; you’ll have to switch from the alphabet keyboard to the number pad).

Being a new release, I do expect that there will be bugs – so, please, if you come across anything that doesn’t seem to be working properly, or you have suggestions for improvement, let me know. The core functionality of each tool is identical to the full web version, so you should expect the same results.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me here, or on the Stratics Tamer forum or UOForums, or on the UOCraft facebook page. Thanks!

** NOTE: There may be a brief outage this weekend as I update the domain name registrar, but I don’t expect anything extensive.

Hi everybody,

Happy Thanksgiving!

In belated honor of our feathered friends, turkeys have been added to the Pet Power Calculator. Data is based on UOGuide. If you find a turkey out of the ranges of the calculator, please let me know. Thanks!

Hi everybody,

By popular demand (most recently requested by Thimotty!), I’ve enabled bookmarking functionality on the Pet Power Calculator. Now, you can bookmark your pet’s results to retrieve later. My suggestion is to bookmark each of your pets, adding their names to the title of each bookmark.

If you notice anything acting strangely after this update, please let me know.

Thanks, and enjoy!

Hi everybody!

Some of you may remember or currently use the Hiryu Porch. It’s the one house in the clearing in the middle of the hiryu spawn area in Tokuno. On some shards, the house is public and makes a great place to tame/kill hiryus, as you’ve got a safe place to heal up if need be. I owned this spot on Lake Austin and Atlantic years ago, but let it go, and on Atlantic, the next owner kept the house private. A few years ago, I stalked him and got him to open it up briefly to allow tamers to use it, but that didn’t last long.

I’m happy to report that I happened upon the spot last week and found it vacant on Atlantic. I have placed a house there, and the Syndicate and I now declare the Hiryu Porch open to the public! Feel free to use the porch as you work the hiryu spawn. There is a rune library on the second floor of the house as well. If you have any suggestions for things to include at the house or the rune library to make it more useful to you, please post ideas on the bulletin board.

I’ve been dropping runes around Luna bank Atlantic. If you’d like to grab one, they’re labeled:

.: The Hiryu Porch :. LLTS

Be careful – it’s a rough neighborhood, with ninjas and rev lions nearby as well. I tend to jump on the porch as soon as I recall in to be sure not to draw the attention of any nearby ninjas by standing around. If you’re unfamiliar with the area, the hiryus spawn in the screens in front of the porch, to the south/southwest on radar. I like to aggro them over to the house area and work them there.

Good luck, and enjoy! Long live the Hiryu Porch! 🙂
