This price guide and calculator is designed to estimate the approximate value of magic armor pieces or suits. To get the value of one piece of armor, input the statistics for the one piece in the first box. To get the value of multiple pieces (such as, to calculate the price of an entire suit), input each piece in the appropriate box.
When calculating a single armor piece, use the first box in the form. If your piece has a low total resist, but one or more of the other “major” categories has been input (luck, lower reagent cost, lower mana cost, or reflect physical damage), you will see the full value calculation, plus a secondary calculation of lower value adjusted based on the low total resist value. TR of 25 or less receives a 60% markdown, and TR of 41 or less receives a 30% markdown. When calculating multiple pieces of armor at one time, this secondary decreased value will not appear, as the combined value of the suit will usually make up for a single inferior piece. Note however that an item is always worth whatever someone else is willing to pay for it - be it higher or lower than your perceived value!
This price guide is intended to be used in combination with your own judgment. While every effort has been made to generate prices that reflect the opinions of crafters and merchants across Britannia as well as current market conditions, item values can vary wildly from shard to shard, facet to facet, even shop to shop.
This script was inspired by conversations in the Stratics Smithy forum, particularly this thread. Kudos to FrankBama for laying the groundwork for this pricing scheme, and to all who contributed ideas to the discussion.
